Cheeseburger Salad-in-a-Jar: A Delicious and Healthy Recipe

Ingredients
:

- 1 tsp avocado oil or olive oil

- 1-1/2 lbs extra-lean ground beef

- 1/4 tsp sea salt

- 1 red onion, diced

- 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped

- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, diced

- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

- 4 cups lettuce (romaine, bibb, or butterhead), chopped


 Sauce:

- 1 cup homemade mayo or plain Greek yogurt

- 3 Tbsps tomato puree, tomato passata, or ketchup

- 1/2 tsp chili powder (or to taste)

- 1/2 tsp onion powder

- 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Additional Supplies:

- 4 x 28 oz wide-mouth jars with lids


Instructions:

1. Cook the Beef:

   - Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

   - Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until nicely browned (about 8-10 minutes).

   - Season with a pinch of sea salt and pepper.

   - Set the meat aside to cool.

2. Prepare the Salad Ingredients:

   - Dice the red onion and cherry tomatoes.

   - Chop the lettuce.

3. Make the Burger Sauce:

   - In a small bowl, whisk together the homemade mayo (or Greek yogurt), tomato puree (or ketchup), chili powder, onion powder, and garlic powder until well combined.

4. Assemble the Salad Jars:

   - Divide the burger sauce equally among the 4 wide-mouth mason jars.

   - Add the cooked ground beef to each jar.

   - Layer with diced onions, cherry tomatoes, chopped pickles, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped lettuce.

5. Store and Serve:

   - Seal the jars with their lids and refrigerate.

   - These salads keep well for 4-5 days in the fridge.
