Creamy Avocado Grilled Cheese Recipe by Chef Marcelo Mintz

Ingredients:

- 4 slices of bread

- 1 ripe avocado

- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

- 2 tablespoons butter, softened

- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (optional)



 Directions:

1. Preheat the Skillet:Start by preheating your skillet over medium heat.

2. Prepare the Avocado: In a small bowl, mash the ripe avocado with a fork until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.

3. Mix the Cheeses: In another bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.

4. Butter the Bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. On the other side of two slices, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise.

5. Assemble the Sandwich:Place the two slices of bread, mayonnaise side down, in the preheated skillet.

6. Add the Avocado and Seasoning: Evenly spread the mashed avocado on the bread in the skillet. Sprinkle with garlic powder and onion powder for extra flavor.

7. Layer with Cheese and Basil:Add a generous layer of the cheese mixture over the avocado. If desired, top with fresh basil leaves for a burst of freshness.

8. Complete the Sandwich: Place the remaining two slices of bread on top, butter side up.

9. Grill to Perfection: Grill the sandwiches until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
