The best part is that most of the cooking happens in the oven, making this recipe both simple and convenient.

Ingredients

 For the Honey Garlic Chicken

* 4 chicken drumsticks

* 2 tablespoons olive oil

* 2 tablespoons honey

* 3 garlic cloves, finely minced

* 1 tablespoon soy sauce

* 1 teaspoon paprika

* 1 teaspoon onion powder

* ½ teaspoon garlic powder

* ½ teaspoon dried oregano

* Salt, to taste

* Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

 For the Rice

* 2 cups cooked white rice

 For the Fresh Garden Salad

* 2 cups romaine lettuce, washed and chopped

* 1 ripe tomato, cut into wedges

* ½ cucumber, thinly sliced

* ¼ red onion, thinly sliced

* 2 tablespoons olive oil

* 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

* Salt and black pepper, to taste

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or aluminum foil to make cleanup easier.

 2. Prepare the Honey Garlic Marinade

In a medium mixing bowl, add the olive oil, honey, freshly minced garlic, and soy sauce. Sprinkle in the paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried oregano.

Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, then whisk all the ingredients together until the honey is fully incorporated and the marinade is smooth and fragrant.

 3. Marinate the Chicken Drumsticks

Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. Add them to the bowl with the honey garlic marinade and toss thoroughly, making sure every drumstick is generously coated.

For the best flavor, allow the chicken to marinate for at least 20 minutes. If you have extra time, cover the bowl and refrigerate the chicken overnight. A longer marinating time allows the sweet and savory flavors to penetrate deeper into the meat.

 4. Bake Until Juicy and Caramelized

Arrange the marinated chicken drumsticks on the prepared baking tray, leaving a little space between each piece. Spoon any remaining marinade over the top of the chicken.

Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 40 to 45 minutes. Turn the drumsticks halfway through cooking and spoon some of the flavorful pan juices over them.

Continue baking until the chicken is beautifully golden, slightly caramelized, and cooked through. The thickest part of the chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

For an extra caramelized finish, you can broil the drumsticks for the final 2 to 3 minutes, watching them carefully to prevent the honey glaze from burning.

 5. Prepare the Fluffy White Rice

While the chicken is baking, cook the white rice according to the package instructions. Once cooked, gently fluff the rice with a fork and keep it warm until ready to serve.

 6. Make the Fresh Garden Salad

Add the chopped romaine lettuce to a large salad bowl. Add the tomato wedges, cucumber slices, and thinly sliced red onion.

Drizzle the vegetables with olive oil and fresh lemon juice. Season lightly with salt and black pepper, then gently toss until all the vegetables are evenly coated.

 7. Assemble and Serve

Divide the warm, fluffy rice between serving plates and add the crisp garden salad alongside it. Place the golden honey garlic chicken drumsticks on each plate.

For even more flavor, spoon some of the delicious pan juices over the chicken just before serving. Serve warm and enjoy a comforting meal filled with sweet honey, savory garlic, tender chicken, and refreshing vegetables.
